Here at The Classic Body Shop we have invested in our own shot blasting facility. We have a 6mx4m rubber lined room. This removes all paint and rust back to clean metal.

This is the only effective way to remove all rust from metal. The type of shot we use does not dent or distort the body shell or panels. We are one of a small handful of classic car specialists (and the only 2CV specialist) to carry out this operation.

The aim in shot blasting is to remove the rust. In most cases rust starts from the inside, but you cannot see if from the outside of the panel. For example in a box section, if the metal is rusty the blasting will create a hole, thus revealing the existence of the rust on the inside to us - then we can deal with it.

Not any old shot blasting company can blast a car; shot blasting is usually done on very thick steel such as cast iron and RSJs. If you take a car to a shot blaster and they blast it the way they blast normally, the car will be distorted. This is why we invested in our own shot blasting equipment so that we can do the work ourselves and guarantee the results.
